Environmental Assessment is a process whose breadth, depth, and type of analysis depend on the nature, scale, and potential environmental impact of the proposed project. ICT has over 15 years of experience in the field of environmental assessment of large infrastructure projects. Environmental assessment evaluates a project's potential environmental risks and impacts in its area of influence, identifies ways of improving project planning, design, and implementation by preventing, minimizing, mitigating, or compensating for adverse environmental impacts and enhancing positive impacts.

Environmental Assessment takes into account the natural environment (air, water and land), human health and safety, and project-related social (involuntary resettlement, indigenous peoples, and cultural property), trans-boundary, and global environmental aspects.

At ICT environmental assessment considers natural and social aspects in an integrated manner. It also takes into account the variations in project and country’s condition, the findings of the country’s environmental studies; national environmental action plans and the country's overall policy framework and national legislation; the project sponsor's capabilities related to the environment and social aspects, and obligations of the country under international environmental treaties and agreements as these areas relevant to the project
